Ana was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She is the current Judge for the 179th District Court, where she has presided over numerous trials related to the most serious charges, including murder and sexual assault offenses against children. Previously, she served as Law Clerk for the Texas Supreme Court; as a felony prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office; and as one of few bilingual appointed attorneys in the Harris County criminal courts representing those who could not afford a lawyer. She was shaped by growing up in an environment where public service and helping others was always a priority. Her dad, an attorney and her mom a nurse, taught her the importance of giving back to the community and to care about the need of others. Ana, who became a naturalized U.S. Citizen in 2007, has called Harris County home for eighteen years. Ana is committed to continue to serve with strength and fairness to all citizens of Harris County as the Judge of the 179th District Court.
